The 2024 election cycle has been one of the most tumultuous in modern history. Many rules and norms seem to have been rewritten in real time. Why do states have such varying election laws? Why is the American electorate so difficult to read right now? Is our polling accurate and how have these systems evolved? How have the politics of battleground states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia shifted in recent years?
On November 25, FOLCS was joined by polling expert Mark Penn, historian Allan Lichtman, and political and communications consultant Liz Mair, to discuss these questions and more, taking stock of what the 2024 election tells us about the future of American democracy.
This event was produced in partnership with the 92nd Street Y.
