Submission: Screening and Conversation

October 22, 2014

It’s been 10 years since Submission’s director, Theo van Gogh, was murdered in retaliation for making this film. This controversial short film confronts the violence against women that is permitted under the Koran and practiced in conservative Islamic cultures.

FOLCS led a post-screening discussion with the film’s screenwriter, human rights activist, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Bret Stephens of The Wall Street Journal.
